Hawthorn Rise
Hawthorn Rise is a large development on the rural fringe of Torquay with a mixture of housing, open space and out-of-town shopping at The Willows.
Hawthorn Rise is about 2½ miles from the centre of Torquay, and is well served with road links into town, to other parts of Torbay and beyond.
Being the first major housing development in Torquay for some years Cavanna Homes has been acutely aware of the importance of 'getting it right'.
Throughout, there has been an overriding requirement to offer attractive, good quality homes, in a pleasant environment and at prices local families can afford.
As a direct result a very strict brief was given to our architects: to create small communities to give identity to the different parts of the development; to create brand new house types to flow with the natural contours of the landscape and to retain a pleasant rural feel to the area. It was stressed, right across the board, that our homes had to offer our customers more, both in the practical aspects of living - e.g. more space and sensible layouts - as well as a good measure of aesthetic appeal and interesting design, to create the individuality we were seeking.
