Seaside inspired show home opens in the latest phase of award-winning Evolve
7th July 2010

Cavanna Homes has unveiled a brand new show home in the latest phase of its award-winning Evolve development on the edge of Torquay.
The seaside inspired decor in the three bedroom Goodrington I style house is the work of designer Ian Miller from Newton Abbott based Fanfare Interiors. He is keen to show prospective homeowners exactly how they can turn their new house into a stylish home.
“A new home is really a blank canvas which provides an excellent opportunity to develop a theme that can be continued throughout the entire house. With smaller houses in particular, the colour palette should sweep you from one room into another, giving you an impression of continuity of space,” explains Ian.
In the Goodrington I show home, Ian has used sand and sunshine colours with aquas and duck-egg blues and bold splashes of red coral. He has injected some fun in the “beach boy” bedroom with a surfboard headboard and some lively fabrics and furnishings.
Ian’s advice to people embarking on a home make-over is to spend time putting together a file of colours, fabrics, wallpapers and things that really appeal to them. “When a stunning wallpaper or curtain fabric catches your eye it’s important to think about what you will put with it. Ask yourself how you will use it, where you will use it and on what scale.
“Never be afraid of going with your own tastes, just make sure they fit into the scheme and that they look and feel right together”, adds Ian, who has run Fanfare Interiors for ten years.
The latest stage of Evolve is on the rural fringe of Torquay and a short distance from The Willows retail park. Last year Evolve won an award for the Best House Project from a large developer at the Local Authority Building Control Awards.
Phases 1, 2 and 3 have had huge success despite the national economic downturn and all properties there have now been sold. 80 percent of homeowners at Evolve have moved there from the local area.
Sales Manager Karen Heywood-Cann says that demand is already very strong for phase 4. “Buyers are very attracted to the modern layout and design of these new homes which are also relatively low cost to run. We would like to invite as many people as possible to visit our beautiful new show home which, I’m sure, will be a fantastic inspiration.”
Evolve offers a mixture of homes from one and two bedroom apartments, through to three and four bedroom homes. Price guides start from £105,000.
Cavanna Homes has just announced a special offer on a three bedroom Oddicombe with garage and parking. The property, which features a living room with a separate kitchen/ diner with double doors opening onto the rear garden and a master bedroom with en-suite shower room, has been reduced by £10,000 to £210,000.
A £10,000 reduction has also been offered on the Babbacombe IV, a two bedroom coach house with an open plan living room with kitchen/ diner, bathroom and integral garage. At £145,000, the property could appeal to first time buyers or professional couples.
